  • Family Support

I provide a range of services for children, young people their parents, carers and workers. For Children and Young People: Therapeutic Interventions Practical and Emotional Support Safer Internet Use Training Workshops Making sense of feelings can be difficult for children and young people whether they are in the care system or at home with their birth families. Consequently they may display worrying and challenging behaviours at home, in school and amongst their community, which could have a detrimental effect on the quality of their life. Children benefit from early intervention at the various developmental stages of their life, as well as at times of transition. Through play, art and using counselling skills, I can help these children and young people think about and begin to make sense of their emotions, and seek to empower them with the skills to effectively manage future challenges and express themselves in ways which are less destructive to themselves and those around them. For Parents, Carers and Staff: Practical and Emotional Support Individual Consultations Staff/Carer Support Groups Safer Internet Use Training Workshops By supporting those who have daily contact with vulnerable children and young people, we can have a more powerful impact on their development. I support the emotional health of carers and parents by offering individual consultations and facilitating group sessions. I provide insight to the possible underlying factors that are contributing to the presenting behaviours and share strategies for the group to consider, as we support each other through the challenges of caring for vulnerable young people.
  • School Based Services

Time 4 Me is a school based, therapeutic intervention project. Making sense of feelings can be difficult for children and young people. Consequently they may display worrying and challenging behaviour at home and school which could have a lasting effect on their later life. Children benefit from early intervention at the various developmental stages of their life. An increasing number of schools are identifying children who have emotional needs that require specialist help. Using counselling skills, I aim to help these children and young people over-come their difficulties and seek to empower them with the skills to effectively manage potentially difficult situations and express themselves in ways which are less destructive to themselves and those around them. Sensitive and confidential support for children, young people, parents, carers and staff, who are experiencing emotional difficulties. Therapeutic intervention in a safe place where we think together and communicate through talk, play and creative work. Small group work (safer internet use; social skills; preparation for transition to KS1/KS2/secondary school...). Staff group consultations, to think together about children who are causing concern, issues which may affect a child’s behaviour and how best to support these children.
